This month, Valley Outdoors was recognised on the world stage, taking home two international titles at the 2025 World Luxury Travel Awards in Singapore. For a small team from Kangaroo Valley, this moment means a lot. It’s proof that genuine, nature-based adventure still stands out in a big world.

Two Awards, One Grateful Team

If you’d told me a few years ago that our local adventure business would be standing alongside global travel brands, I probably would have laughed. But here we are, and it’s a pretty incredible feeling.

At this year’s World Luxury Travel Awards, held in Singapore at the Parkroyal Collection Pickering, Valley Outdoors received two international honours:

  • Best Active Outdoor Adventures in Australasia
  • Best Water Sport & Activities in Australia & Oceania

These awards celebrate excellence across global travel and tourism, recognising businesses that deliver unforgettable experiences while staying true to their people, place, and purpose.

Proudly Representing Kangaroo Valley

These awards aren’t just for us. They’re for our guests, our team, and the amazing Kangaroo Valley community that makes everything possible.

Every time someone paddles the river for the first time, or steps out of a canoe grinning from ear to ear, that’s what it’s all about. The connection. The shared love of nature. The simple, unfiltered moments that happen when you leave your phone in the dry bag and just look around.

We’re proud to represent Kangaroo Valley as Australia’s canoe capital, a place where nature, adventure, and connection come together every single day.

What the World Luxury Travel Awards Are All About

The World Luxury Travel Awards have been running since 2006 and are known for celebrating the best in travel and tourism around the globe. Winners are chosen through public voting and industry review, recognising quality, sustainability, and guest experience.

For us, it’s not just about the title. It’s about showing that regional tourism, when done right, can stand shoulder to shoulder with the best in the world.

Why We Do What We Do

When we started Valley Outdoors, the goal was simple: help people connect with the outdoors in a real, meaningful way. Whether it’s a family on a guided canoe tour, a group tackling a multi-day adventure, or someone hiring a canoe for a quiet morning paddle, every experience is a chance to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with nature. We’ve built our business around sustainability, inclusivity, and respect for the landscapes we work in. These values guide every trip we run, every conversation we have, and every paddle stroke we take.

Looking Ahead

Awards like these don’t mean we’ve reached the finish line. If anything, they remind us why we started. We’ll keep learning, keep improving, and keep doing what we love. Helping more people experience this beautiful part of the world in a way that’s good for them, good for the environment, and good for the community.

Thanks to everyone who’s been part of our journey so far. Whether you’ve joined a tour, paddled the river, shared a story, or supported us along the way, this win is for you too.

We had the pleasure of working with Valley Outdoors, an outstanding guided tour business based in Kangaroo Valley. The team offers bespoke experiences — from abseiling to canoe journeys — with a genuine focus on connecting people with nature. The recent acquisition of the iconic Kangaroo Valley Safaris is a real testament to their passion for growing adventure tourism in the region. A wonderful Australian tourism business doing it the right way. 100% recommend!

We have recently visited Kangaroo valley and have done River Cannoying had a very good experience, we are glad that we have chosen Valley Outdoors for Hiring our Cannoying boat and equipment, the owner was so kind and gentle and professionally guided us and well prepared us with all the necessary information for Cannooying in the river, we told them we are not professionals, doing it for very first time.Their equipment including the quality of boats were really good.I also ended up in buying some swim warmers with decent prices, they were of so good quality with rare colours available which you barely can find outside I definitely recommend my friends to this shop.

We had a great afternoon in a canoe cruising down the river. Sarah was extremely friendly and patiently walked us through what we should expect. Brie took us to the place and everyone received an excellent crash course on how to handle the equipment. The density of wildlife is truly astonishing - wombats, lyre birds, kingfishers, red belly blacks to name a few. We are looking forward to visiting again!

4 person expedition in single kayaks from Hampden Bridge to Bendeela Camp ground with Ken. Beautiful day, perfect temperature. Some fun, small rapids and 45 mins to a small beach for a coffee, chocolate and Lilly stop and then another 45 mins to the end. Stunning scenery, has the river to ourselves. Highly recommend doing this with Valley Outdoors, who are so well organised and friendly. Pleasure to deal with.

What a trip. The scenery!!! Incredible and I can't recommend Valley outdoors enough. An incredible professional team. We felt so supported with planning and in the execution of our trip - the hire gear was all in great condition. We enjoyed having the company of many wallabies, goannas, cheeky food stealing possums and Mountain Goats. So cool and especially our kiwi friends enjoyed seeing them in there natural environment Memories forever. Thank you
